Hello owned my business for 15 years most work comes from word of mouth but interested in some one building me a reasonable website to boost new work any ideas ? ?

Something that I've seen recently is buying a domain and pointing it to a blogspot address. That way hosting is free and you have a custom domain instead of having yourbusinessname.blogspot.com you would have yourbusinessname.com. There are a lot of free templates available online you don't have to worry about hiring a designer. Most of the time, a simple website is all you need.

There are hundreds of ideas on how to build a website on the internet. If you have the time this is a great way to learn how to build your own. If you don't have the time, like most people who run a business, check out a community college near you and see if computer students would be willing to build a website for you. This would give the students extra experience and also be cost effective for you.
If you are not technically inclined, you can look at creating a website at Yahoo or Intuit. It should work for basic, static, content only websites.
If you wish more control, you can look into WordPress. You can have WordPress host it for you or find hosting yourself. You can work with a designer or find a template that you can customize. WordPress.com suggests you look at 99designs if you need to customize WordPress.com CSS. For a more complicated content site, look into Drupal.
If you need a shopping cart, look into SaaS carts like Shopify or BigCommerce. If you want more power, look at Magento.
If you need a lot of hand holding and want someone to build your website entirely for you, I suggest you look for someone local, since you will need to spend a lot of time hashing out the details with your chosen vendor. In order to get the result you desire also take into consideration the time needed to maintain the said website and do the neccessary SEO on the said website, so that your site wont get buried in the search engine spider.
This is a full time job some even make this as a living, since as you said you dont have much idea I would suggest that you hire someone to maintain it for you.
