In really think we need more of this sort of seminar at all levels of education - greater financial literacy and knowledge of the benefits and risks of credit based purchasing being pushed at shool level through to business would provide massive benefits. It tends to only be when things go pear shaped that people start trying to actually understand why they're in trouble, knowing how to avoid those probelems in the first place is really the key. Froma business perspective I think one of the key considerations for a new business is the cost of credit and deciding how to finance your start up. How much credit do you need and is it better to have more (but pay more interest) or keep your borrowings to a minimum (and reduce your interest overheads) but expose yourself to cashflow issues? the benfits/costs of factoring...there's a lot to cover!
