We have the concept and the developers on board to create a new and
innovative website. This website is not selling products or services but is
more of an interactive website with a social media flavor. We have initial
investors but now we are struggling on writing an actual business plan for an
internet website of this type. Any experience or suggestions out there?

you need to define how much revenue your ads should bring in to keep the
company afloat or even with profit. After 2008, google ad revenue was cut
around 50%, and content sites tend to not make much money unless they are top
1000 alexa. Which means your site should have some unique features to compete
with existing sites in the same niche.
Also, don't reinvent the wheel. All to often in the past I have learned that
there is so much open source software out there you can use and then alter it
with your unique features. Programming proprietary from scratch takes a lot
of time and is expensive, unless you do it yourself.
Design the site around the content. Use a wireframe first with your
pre-written content to show where the website elements will go. Then get into
artwork.
Just some advice from my experience =b

for your business and pair the key words with right ads. Get your site listed
on free listing sites. You may also look for CMS as they provide a nice info
on that.
