What Can I Do When My Distributors Also Sell To Consumers Directly

Please all I really need some advice here. I'm in the process of starting a
business that sells Do It Yourself type of video security & surveillance
equipment online through my eCommerce store. It is a registered business and
I'm also almost completing my legal documentations.
However, while doing some research on product sourcing. I found out that
almost all my distributors have shopping cart on their websites. So they sell
to consumers directly. What breaks the camel back is that, their prices are
cheaper that the MSRP (suggested prices) they gave me. So how am I suppose to
compete with them.
I have good knowledge of this niche since I've blogged in that niche for
close to 2 years. However, I have a day job so I cannot offer installer
service for customers. I'm almost giving up on starting this business. I just
need directions and some helpful advice.

in order to carry their product, you must have exclusive rights to a certain
territory, such as within 50 miles of your address. If they receive an
inquiry from someone in that area, they would refer the person to you. They
may not initially agree, since this would limit their income, but their
income would be even more limited if you choose not to carry their product if
they continue to compete against you. Another option is to look for
manufacturers/distributors who do not directly compete with their retailers.

enough. I'm not a manufacturer. I'm an online retailer. Since I do not have
direct access to manufacturers, I have to source products from distributors.
But these distributors are selling both wholesales to retailers and also
directly selling directly to consumers. So my question is how to deal with
this type of situation.

matter if they are competing against you? The more they sell, the more you
can make. Maybe I'm not understanding your question completely???
