You might want to consider visiting www.exim.gov , which is the site for the
Export-Import Bank of the United States. If your plan is to export US made
goods to other countries, you will find a lot of information there. They have
some guides under their small business section.
From personal experience I can tell you that all of the exporter borrowers
that I have underwritten have used Ex-Im Bank guarantees as credit
enhancements rather than SBA guarantees since Ex-Im has specific products for
them, and that is their primary market.
They will guarantee foreign receivables, and even advances for inventory when
it is designated for export. The SBA is a great agency, but for exporting
business Ex-Im Bank is where is at.
