Where to find legitimate source to file for grants for small business??

I am looking for somewhere to file for grant for my small business (restaurant).  I searched online but I always find something about loans etc.  I can never find a good site for grants.  I would truly appreciate any type of guidance.  Thanks

the 'grants' that are generally available are actually loan guarantees. The gov doesn't actually gift you money, rather they offer to guarantee your loan making it easier to raise capital.
avoiding a foreclosure is something everyone wants to do - if you're facing foreclosure get educated and you just might save your home.

I really wish they would change this forum category to loans and capital as I think that 'grants' in the title create the wrong impression. If your business is a restaurant - forget about a grant - federal or otherwise. You are better off find a loan or investor if you are need of capital - anything else is just a waste of time and time is money.

However, both federal and state government agencies provide financial assistance programs that helps small business owners obtain low-interest loans. You can use the Small Business Loans and Grants Search Tool on Business.gov to find specialized small business loan programs.
