Where to find the right government contracts ?

Deciding whether to bid on a government contract can have far-reaching and long-term implications for a company....How does one know where and how to begin when there are literally tens of thousands of purchasing agencies? The government procurement process is not standardized and is highly decentralized, especially at the state and local levels. No central web site exists for the over 87,000 state and local government agencies across the country, so... where do you guys go shopping ? them and perusing their RFPs on a regular basis. City and county agencies
often list their RFPs in the the legal section of a major newspaper (state or
area, not national newspaper). It is relatively easy to locate bid
opportunities on the state and local level. Whether the services your
business provides will be needed by your state or city is another matter.
