My website will sell foods. What other taxes do I need to be aware of? in regards to the license, the state of Delaware requires me to obtain a business license if my website will sell to customers in Delaware. But my question is: For my internet business, will my Delaware business license allow me to sell products to customers in other states? No, you do not need a federal license to sell goods online. You only need to be concerned about the state in which you register. The only thing you will need to collect is sales tax from individuals who are purchasing products from your state. If they are buying from a state other than Delaware, you should be fine. You may be thinking of something that has been labeled as The Amazon Tax where some states (specifically NY) passed legislation requiring all companies who ship products into their state to charge sales tax as long as the company has some physical presence in that state.
