In recent times i have seen Mozilla Firefox browser is throwing its updates daily. I sleep one night with a version 3.6.9 and next morning I saw Firefox 4 and within few days its version goes to 11 without any major updates why are they are giving so many updates. When it comes to release a new version people expect something new in it but Firefox fails to do so. Look at internet explorer, every time they release a new version they must apply some major changes in it. I think Mozilla Firefox just wanted to win the race in version numbers since internet explorer is currently on 9th version. Mozilla is at 11th release.Woaah!!! Firefox wins the race but only in version numbers.
You indeed have a strong point, having numerous versions in less amount of time is really great but then what important most is how it affect the browser? For sure people would expect to that when a new version came it is faster, more exciting features, but then FIrefox as you've said not all meet these requirements.

They're not trying to win a race. It simply became a multi development software. Over the last year, Firefox has improved dramatically performance-wise due to various stages of the development being split up. This is also why we get releases more often. Some of you might view the release as insigificant because you're not seeing newly designed GUI's, but it's what's under the hood that has been significant. Firefox is the most used browser because of it's performance and expandability (plugins), not because of fancy new buttons.

Could have to do with the P3P controversy that has Microsoft attacking other browsers. I don't know why they would support a 10 year old technology that isnt too useful in protecting your browsing privacy.

They fixed some further critical security issues and smaller bugs like a Java Applet Bug for version 10.0.2. Mozilla also closed a soft spot in nsXBLDocumentInfo libary. I appreciate the new included webdeveloper tool (Page/Style Inspector) Google Chrome already has, but on the first view is looks a bit confusing to me.
Enhancements was done by adding new HTML5 tags and antialising for WebGL as well as support for CSS3 3D-Transforms.
I think the security fixes were the most important once.
