Capital Bank's Hector Hernandez to Receive Financial Services Champion Award

SANTA ANA, CA – Hector Hernandez, Senior Vice President and Business Lending Manager for Capital Bank, has been selected to receive SBA’s Financial Services Champion of the Year Award.  Hernandez was nominated for the award by Rick Abrego, Business Development Officer at Capital Bank, in recognition of his efforts to help their bank acquire preferred lending status.

Hernandez, a resident of Sun City, has decades of experience in the lending industry gained while working for institutions such as the Bank of Whittier, Peoples Bank of California, Pacific Western National Bank, Mission Oaks National Bank, and Citizens Business Bank before joining Capital Bank.  Since joining Capital Bank, the lender has acquired preferred lending status (PLP), allowing it to make delegated lending decisions on behalf of the SBA.  Capital Bank has steadily increased their SBA lending portfolio from $6.3 million in 2009 to $35.6 million in 2011.

According to John R. McGill, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at Capital Bank, “Our U.S. Small Business Administration Loan Department continues to be one of the most active and productive SBA lenders in Orange County and the State.  Our team has done an exceptional job providing the much needed financing to fuel job growth for the communities we serve.  We have money to lend.”  Capital Bank, which is based in San Juan Capistrano, offers new business start-up, business expansion, working capital, and commercial real estate loans to its customers.

Hernandez will be honored alongside small business owners and advocates at the 49th Annual Small Business Week Awards Celebration to be held on June 5th at the City National Grove of Anaheim from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  For information about the event, please contact Doug Dare at (714) 560-7467.  To RSVP for the event, please visit www.49thannualsbwawards.eventbrite.com.
