Entrepreneurial Development Associate Administrator Tameka Montgomery visits the Bay Area
SAN FRANCISCO—The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) San Francisco District Office is proud to host Associate Administrator for Entrepreneurial Development, Tameka Montgomery on March 20th and 21st.
Montgomery manages the agency’s counseling and training programs with a budget of over $200 million and which serve more than 1.5 million entrepreneurs and small businesses nationwide. She oversees SBA’s entrepreneurial programs which include the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Program, the SBA Women Business Center Program, SCORE , and the Office of Entrepreneurship Education. Those programs provide a national network of technical assistance partners of over 1,500 locations to serve small businesses.
The San Francisco Bay Area hosts 13 SBDCs, three Women’s Business Centers, and two Entrepreneurship Training Centers.
Prior to joining SBA, Montgomery was the executive director of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, an affiliate of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Montgomery also served as the executive director of the nationally recognized Denver Metro Small Business Development Center (Denver Metro SBDC) for more than seven years. Prior to the Denver Metro SBDC, Montgomery launched a business incubator that provided low-cost office space, business support services and technical assistance to area entrepreneurs.
On Thursday Montgomery will meet with organizations in San Francisco and San Jose, and on Friday she will meet with community partners in Oakland.
