The Women's Business Center of Kentucky is announcing that Alison Lundergan Grimes, Kentucky Secretary of State, will serve as the luncheon keynote speaker at its Women in Business Expo.  The event will be held September 16 - 17 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville.  The agenda will include a networking reception, tradeshow, diversity and inclusion matchmaking event and educational workshops for women entrepreneurs and supporters.

"We are pleased to announce that Secretary Grimes will deliver the keynote luncheon address at our event. Our theme is "Level the Playing Field" to promote small business creation and growth. It is a great opportunity for women business owners in Kentucky to showcase their business, network and gain strategies to help their business grow to the next level," said Sharron Johnson, Director of the Women's Business Center of Kentucky. Last year, Moira Forbes, President of ForbesWoman, shared information about the state of women entrepreneurs from a national perspective. Regarding their selection this year, Johnson said, "We decided to select a Kentuckian. We look forward to hearing Secretary Grimes' thoughts on how entrepreneurs, particularly women, can thrive and grow in the state of Kentucky."

Alison Lundergan Grimes is Kentucky's 76th Secretary of State and only current female Constitutional Officer. She is also the youngest female Secretary of State nationwide. "Small businesses form the foundation of Kentucky's economy. As Secretary of State, I've worked hard to pass laws that make it easier for businesses to open and operate in the Commonwealth. And it's great to work with the Women Business Center and women business owners from across the state to help keep Kentucky going and growing," said Secretary Grimes.
