Small Business of the Year for Delaware, followed by tour of the newly-expanded restaurant
WHEN: May 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.

Since 2004, Stefania Panza has grown her Kirkwood Highway restaurant, Soffritto’s Italian Grill, into an acclaimed dining destination. With that growth, the restaurant has doubled its employee roster, logged steady sales volume increases, despite the Great Recession’s toll on the restaurant industry, and become a Delaware favorite. Soffritto’s has been named the Best Italian Restaurant in the world outside of Italy by Ospitaliata Italiana (a prestigious international title awarded in Rome, Italy) and the Best Italian Restaurant in Delaware by Delaware Today Magazine. Most recently, Panza dramatically expanded the restaurant with SBA-backed financing.

SBA’s ‘2014 Delaware Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year’ award will be presented by Tim Furlong, NBC10 Delaware Bureau Reporter, at SBA’s “Celebrate Success” awards ceremony on May 21 at 4:30 p.m. at DuPont Country Club, 1001 Rockland Road, Wilmington, Del. 19803. The May 21 event is a local observance of the annual National Small Business Week, held this year May 12-16, which recognizes the small business community’s contribution to the American economy and culminates in the announcement of the National Small Business Person of the Year.
