MIAMI - The U.S. Small Business Administration will renew a Strategic Alliance Memorandum (SAM) with the City of Palm Bay tonight, Aug. 7, during its scheduled council meeting  in the City Hall Council Chambers at 120 Malabar Road, SE, at 7 p.m.

The purpose of this SAM agreement is to recommit in developing and fostering mutual understanding and a working relationship between SBA and the City of Palm Bay to inspire small business development and expansion.

"SBA exists to provide counseling, small business capital and government contracting opportunities," said South Florida District Director Francisco "Pancho" Marrero. "This fiscal year, five Palm Bay small businesses were approved for $936 thousand through SBA lending programs.  Not only do we want to increase the access of capital to Palm Bay business owners and entrepreneurs but we also want to help grow business and create jobs through SBA counseling and contracting resources."

“The City of Palm Bay appreciates our continuing partnership with the Small Business Administration. This partnership means that SBA resources are more easily accessible to Palm Bay’s small business community,” said City of Palm Bay Mayor William Capote.

SBA South Florida District and its resource partners provide capital, counseling services and contracting opportunities to entrepreneurs and small business owners to start and expand small businesses that create new jobs.

SBA South Florida Area Manager Vince Lopresti and City of Palm Bay City Manager Sue Hann will sign the SAM which will remain in effect for two more years.
