SBA Regional Administrator Visits Scranton Incubator

Scranton Enterprise Center helps start-ups succeed and create jobs

SCRANTON, PA – U.S. Small Business Administration Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Natalia Olson-Urtecho will tour Scranton Enterprise Center tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 23 at 1 p.m. At the Scranton Enterprise Center, Olson-Urtecho will highlight how SBA teams with local organizations and initiatives as well as how local small businesses and start-ups can benefit from SBA programs to start, grow, succeed and create jobs.

The Scranton Enterprise Center is a state-of-the-art business facility that houses several anchor tenants as well as a business incubator program for start-up and expanding small businesses.  The incubator program provides a number of services to enhance the development of young firms including hands-on management assistance, access to financing, intensive mentoring programs and networking opportunities. The business incubator’s tenants have access to shared office services, equipment, conference rooms, flexible leases, and expandable office space. These services coupled with professional management will stimulate the growth and development of new business ventures in northeastern Pennsylvania.

“The mission to promote entrepreneurship is a core component of President Obama’s Startup America national innovation strategy for achieving sustainable growth and quality jobs. The Scranton Enterprise Center exemplifies the kind of results the President hopes to achieve throughout the nation to dramatically increase the prevalence and success of America’s entrepreneurs through coordinated public/private efforts,” said Regional Administrator Natalia Olson-Urtecho.
