SBA South Florida District Welcomes 15 Miami Business Owners in Inaugural Emerging Leaders Course Ceremony
MIAMI – Media are invited to meet the 15 Miami small business owners selected for the SBA South Florida inaugural Emerging Leaders course and its sponsors, on Tuesday, Apr. 15, to learn more about the specialized executive training designed to bring business to the next level.
“South Florida district had more small business owners register for 15 seats in the inaugural Emerging Leaders program here than any other district in the nation,” said SBA South Florida District Director Francisco “Pancho” Marrero. “These 15 business owners start their six-week, executive-level course immediately after the commencement ceremony. This is an excellent opportunity to speak with these business owners about their small business goals and to the sponsors who will give them the tools and education to help achieve those goals.”
The Emerging Leaders initiative targets specific business owners. Executives selected are the owner or principal in the small business that has annual revenues of at least $400,000; been in business for at least 3 years; and have at least one employee other than himself. Each business owner is committing himself to attend 13 evening training sessions and complete required homework.
The curriculum called the StreetWise Steps™ to Small Business Growth, is comprised of five modules: Business and Strategy Assessment; Financials; Marketing and Sales; Resources (People, Accessing Capital and Government Contracting); and Strategic Growth Plan Presentations.
