SBA to Sponsor Workshop Targeted to Repairing Credit Scores
The U.S. Small Business Administration is sponsoring a workshop on how to rebuild good credit. The workshop is free and open to the public.
Shelene Shrewsbury and Nicole Hupp, certified credit and housing counselors from the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Mid-Ohio Valley will review how to:
- Get credit reports for no cost
- Read credit reports
- Dispute errors on credit reports
- Rebuild good credit
The workshop is Wednesday, Jun. 19, 2013 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at Beechwood Plaza on 2715 Murdoch Avenue, Suite B4, in Parkersburg. Register online at http://credit-workshop-parkersburg.eventbrite.com/.
“Having good credit is essential in getting financial assistance to start a new business or expand a current business,” said Judy McCauley, director of SBA’s West Virginia District Office. “This workshop is a great opportunity to learn how to start rebuilding good credit and I encourage everyone interested to take advantage of this free workshop.”
The mission of the SBA is to aid, counsel, assist and promote the interests of small businesses by providing financial, procurement and business development assistance and advocating on their behalf within the government.
