SOUTH DAKOTA DISTRICT OFFICE ANNOUNCES

2012 ASSET BUILDER AWARDS WINNER

Sioux FallsThe South Dakota Small Business Administration District Office has announced Dakota BUSINESS Finance, Sioux Falls, as the recipient of both of SBA’s 2012 Asset Builder Awards.  These awards recognize the Certified Development Company (CDC) with the largest total loan volume and largest total dollars approved in fiscal year 2012.

Dakota BUSINESS Finance (DBF) had the largest approved loan volume, originating 27 loans, and also had the largest dollar amount approved totaling over 18.5 million during the year. These accomplishments established new SBA records for South Dakota and included the largest single project in the history of the 504 program in the state.  Dakota BUSINESS Finance was also the overall leader in all of the SBA loan programs for FY 2012 for the second consecutive year.

Since becoming a Certified Development Company (CDC) in 2006, Dakota BUSINESS Finance has processed 120 SBA 504 loan applications totaling over $43 million.

“Remarkable achievements in the same year by a single CDC – and record lending in 2012 to small businesses in South Dakota.  We congratulate our CDC’s across the state on a job well done,” said John L. Brown II, District Director of the South Dakota District Office.

First District Development Company, Watertown, was also recognized with the 2012 Leadership Award for Outstanding Achievement.  First District established new records for their CDC in both number and dollar lending volume in 2012.  Their 504 dollar volume for FY2012 was the second highest among all CDCs in the history of the program in South Dakota.

First District Development Company, Dakota Business Finance, Black Hills Community Economic Development, Inc., South Dakota Development Corporation, Prairieland Economic Development Corporation, and Siouxland Economic Development Corporation are licensed by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to offer the SBA 504 Loan Program in South Dakota.
