 Call for Speakers and Speaker Proposal Form
Since the first National Small Business Week celebration, the SBA has prided itself on presenting attendees with outstanding speakers dedicated to the development and growth of small businesses and entrepreneurship nationwide. To continue the legacy this year, the SBA is looking for exceptional and dynamic speakers to present at our award winner banquets, evening receptions and in various training seminars. If you are interested in speaking or know someone who would make an substantial addition to the conference please complete and submit our online Speaker Proposal Form below.

What we are looking for:

Speakers are selected based on the following:

  • Appeal to small businesses and entrepreneurs;
  • Qualifications and professional experience;
  • Prior speaking experience with positive reactions;
  • Expertise in a subject matter related to small business;
  • Presentation theme is a “good fit” with the conference theme and small business issues; and
  • Ability to participate in necessary pre-conference communications and arrive at conference at least two hours before scheduled speaking time.

How we “pay” our speakers:

In general, SBA Expo ‘05 does not cover honorarium or speaker fees, nor does it reimburse speakers for travel expenses. However all speakers will receive complimentary registration to the conference and receive exposure to thousands of small business owners from across the nation.

What if you are chosen to speak but can not attend:
We generally do not want speaker substitutions, except in the case of emergencies. If granted, the substituted speaker must be approved by the SBA and must submit a duplicate of their presentation and all presentation materials prior to the speaking engagement.

What we need from you:

Please fill out the following Speaker Proposal Form in its entirety. If your proposal is selected for further consideration, a member of the Expo Speaker Committee will contact you and request a duplicate copy of your presentation and presentation materials within five to ten business days. Upon receipt of the materials, the Expo Speaker Committee will evaluate your proposal and contact you within five business days with a final decision.
