- Abstract:
- The Semiannual Report to the Congress contains
descriptions and synopses of the activities and
accomplishments of the Office of Inspector General (OIG)
for the period specified in the title. The report is separated
into narrative chapters by Agency program area, and
contains statistical and financial information required by
statute. The narrative and data describe audits,
investigations, inspections, legal reviews, and other
miscellaneous activities carried out by the OIG in support
of its mission. The SBA publishes a concurrent
management report describing Agency management's
actions in response to OIG findings and recommendations.
Both reports are transmitted together by the SBA
Administrator to the Congress on May 31 and October 31
of each year.
- Purpose:
- The Semiannual Report to Congress is the means by
which the Inspector General keeps the Congress informed
of his efforts to improve SBA management and
effectiveness, and to detect and deter fraud in the SBA's
programs.
