North Dakota Severe Storms & Flooding - March 31, 2009 and continuing

SBA's Disaster Loan Program offers low-interest loans to those in declared disaster areas who are rebuilding their homes and businesses. Once a disaster declaration has been made, those who suffered losses may be eligible for the following direct loans:

Physical Loss Loans:

Loans made to homeowners, renters, or business owners who have suffered personal property or real property losses.

To determine if physical loss loans are currently available in your area, visit the North Dakota Disaster Declaration site. Please follow the instructions in the announcements to apply for these loans.

Economic Injury Disaster Loans:

Working capital loans made to small business owners who have experienced a loss in revenues because they are dependent upon customers located in declared disaster areas.

To determine if economic injury loans are currently available in your area, visit the North Dakota Disaster Declaration site. Please follow the instructions in the announcements to apply for these loans.

Military Reservist Economic Injury Disaster Loans:

Working capital loans made to small business owners who are unable to meet ordinary and necessary operating expenses because an essential employee was "called-up" to active duty in their role as a military reservist.

Disaster Preparedness Considerations:

The best time to respond to a disaster is before it happens. A relatively small investment of time and money now may prevent severe damage and disruption of life and business in the future.
