John E. Scott, II

John E. Scott, II, has served as the District Director for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Nevada district office located in Las Vegas, NV since December, 1995. He has been employed with the SBA since March, 1980.
Previous to his current SBA position, John served as the SBA Deputy Regional Administrator for Region VII (Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska) in Kansas City, MO in 1994-1995. He also served as the SBA District Director for the west Texas office in El Paso, TX from 1988-1994. His SBA career has further included service as Deputy District Director and Assistant Regional Administrator for Business Development in Kansas City, MO.
Before joining the SBA, John was an Economic Development Program Officer with the Ozark Regional Commission of the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. from 1977-1980. And from 1973-77, he worked with the U.S. Department of Energy in Kansas City, MO in a variety of operational management and energy conservation positions. His previous civilian positions included internal financial auditor with the Commodore Corporation in Omaha,NE and internal operations auditor with the Mobil Oil Corporation in Chicago, IL.
John was graduated from Central Missouri State University (CMSU) in Warrensburg, MO in 1969 and was a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma Honors Fraternity and CMSU Honors Program.
He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserve with 30+ years of service, 1968-1999, and a 1987 honors graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officers School, Ft. Leavenworth, KS.
