Connie Marshall is the Regional Communications Director of the Small Business Administration's Region X, covering Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. She coordinates information about regional events and SBA programs with the local SBA offices, other federal agencies, local government entities and business communities in Region X. She was formerly the Office of Advocacy Regional Advocate for Region X serving as the direct link between small business owners, state and local government agencies, state legislators, small business associations, and the Office of Advocacy of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Connie Marshall’s experience includes serving on the Bellevue City Council for the past ten years, most recently as Mayor. She served as Chair of the Growth Management Policy Board with the Puget Sound Regional Council which coordinates land use policies for a four county region. She has served as Chair of the Eastside Transportation Partnership which coordinates transportation decisions for 16 jurisdictions. In addition, Mrs. Marshall has served on the National League of Cities Transportation Infrastructure and Service Steering Committee and on the TEA-21 Reauthorization Task Force Committee. She also served on the Executive Committee for the Bellevue Economic Partnership with the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. Before her career in public service, Connie was a founder and partner for the Orca Medical Software Company which created, produced and sold a medical software program dedicated to ensuring consistency in discharge instructions for patients treated in an emergency department. She began her career as a dental hygienist and was an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University Dental Hygiene School in Chicago. Mrs. Marshall was named “One of the 100 Most Influential People in the State of Washington” by CEO Magazine in 2001 and 2002. She was most recently named “Woman of the Year” by the Bellevue Business and Professional Women organization. Connie Marshall received her bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and her MBA from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. |
