SBA Business Recovery Centers Close for Columbus Day; October 31 Deadline for Isaac is Approaching

ATLANTA –The U.S. Small Business Administration announced today that the Business Recovery Centers in Mississippi will close on Monday, Oct. 8, in observance of Columbus Day and resume operations on Tuesday, Oct. 9. 
 
SBA’s Customer Service Representatives at the Business Recovery Centers (BRCs) and MEMA/FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) can answer questions about the disaster loan program and  help homeowners, renters and businesses submit their SBA disaster loan application.  Anyone that has not submitted their SBA disaster loan application is encouraged to complete it before the Oct. 31 deadline.

Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Counselors are available to assist business owners in completing their loan applications at no cost.  To contact a local SBDC counselor, visit https://www.mssbdc.org/, or call 1-800-725-7232 (In MS only).
 
Those affected by the disaster may also apply for disaster loans electronically from SBA’s website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.
 
Additional details on the locations of Disaster Recovery Centers and the loan application process can be obtained by calling the SBA Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.  Loan applications can be downloaded from www.sba.gov.  Completed applications should be mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.
 
The filing deadline to return applications for physical damage is October 31, 2012.  The deadline to return economic injury applications is May 30, 2013.
