“SBA and our partners at the Louisiana Department of Economic Development (LED) and the Louisiana Small Business Development Centers (LSBDCs) began opening Business Recovery Centers on September 7 to meet with business owners who suffered property damage and economic losses as a result of Hurricane Isaac,” said Michael W. Ricks, Director of SBA’s Louisiana District Office.  “Based on the success of the BRCs, we have concluded that this partnership has successfully met the current needs of the business community, and the centers are no longer necessary,” he added.  “Business owners may still seek personal assistance by visiting any of the remaining Disaster Loan Outreach Centers listed below,” Ricks added.  The BRCs have served 2,950 business visitors.

“SBA opened Disaster Loan Outreach Centers to continue meeting the long-term needs of Hurricane Isaac victims,” Ricks continued.  “SBA customer service representatives will still be available at the following centers to meet one-on-one with residents and business owners that have been affected by the disaster, answer their questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, issue loan applications, explain the application process, help disaster victims complete their applications and close their approved loans,” Ricks continued.  To date, 29,576 visitors have received personal service from SBA at the DRCs, DLOCs and BRCs.

Individuals and business owners can meet with SBA representatives on the days and times indicated.  No appointment is necessary.
