Fiscal Year 2013 San Diego District SBA Lender Awards

SPECIAL AWARDS

Advocacy Award
for his Accomplishments & Sustained Commitment in helping Small Businesses Achieve Success

The San Diego District Office Advocacy Award honors an individual or organization that has made a significant contribution to the San Diego small business community.

Mr. Steve Stultz, Owner, Stultz Financial, Inc.
Steve is a founding member of the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) and former past chairman. He is also a current board member of CDC Small Business Finance and a member of the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO.) Additionally, he generously donates his time and efforts to planning NAGGL events. His commitment and involvement with the SBA, CDC and the banking community spans 38 years.

In previous years he received the SBA's National Financial Services Advocate Award and the NAGGL Distinguished Services Award.

He is also an annual participant of the Multiple Sclerosis Bike-a-thon for charity.

Appreciation Award
for his Support of the San Diego District Office and It's Lending Community

Mr. Robert Lopez, Director of Lending, Accion San Diego

Robert has been a tireless supporter of the SBA San Diego district office and the micro-lending community. We can always count on Robert's assistance when planning SBA events and Accion San Diego is always well represented at SBA outreach functions. In addition, Robert's team conducts many events on Saturdays to meet the needs of the working public. His enthusiasm and support of "the difficult to bank" gives hope for a "new start" to many small businesses.

Special Achievement Award
for their Outstanding Achievement in Supporting the Small Business Community

Vibra Bank became an SBA participating lender in January of 2008 and achieved their Preferred Lender Program (PLP) status in September of 2013. This is a tremendous accomplishment for a small bank, with only five years as an SBA lender.

In 2013, Vibra Bank approved a total of 28 high quality loans totaling $11,209,700, which exceeds both the number of loans and the loan dollar volume of many of their much larger competitors. In addition, they've made thirteen loans to women-owned small businesses and have worked with the local community in underserved markets. They are also currently working on some interesting projects in the trans-border area.

Congratulations to all of our special award winners. We look forward to your continued support of the small business community.
