e200 Syracuse Class of 2011

The U.S. Small Business Administration honored the 13 participating companies in its Emerging 200 Initiative (e200) at a graduation ceremony on November 2, 2011.   The intense program, providing more than 40 hours of advanced management training, has been a collaboration of the SBA Syracuse District Office with CenterState CEO, CNY TDO, MACNY, Onondaga SBDC, SUNY ESF, Syracuse SCORE Chapter, Syracuse University, The Falcone Center, The Tech Garden and the WISE Women’s Business Center. Syracuse is one of 17 e200 participating cities. Others included Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Des Moines, Detroit, Fresno, Jacksonville, Memphis, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Philadelphia, St. Louis and Youngstown, OH. The e200 initiative focused on small companies in the Syracuse area that have the potential for rapid expansion and job creation. Firms had an operational track record of three years or more. Clairus provides tailored engineering and analytics for the modernization of aviation systems.  Their automated test and analysis tool, Performance View, helps equipment vendors and aviation authorities quickly commission and troubleshoot surveillance systems by comparing systems and configurations in real time.  The tool is in operation at several locations in the United States and Europe including Washington D.C., Heathrow, Aberdeen and Frankfurt.

HP Mile is a specialty flexographic label printer that focuses on servicing the  pharmaceutical and medical industries.  The company produces defect-free labels with quick turnaround while typically saving customers 30% over their competitors.  Brady’s firm creates individual, customer specific work cells with dedicated state-of-the-art printing and inspection equipment.  Their staff is also customer specific and produces labels on demand.  The firm’s streamlined approach and highly trained employees ensure that customers receive perfect labels on time, every time.
