Program for Investment in Entrepreneurs
Under SBA's FY2005 Appropriations, SBA has received funds for the Program for Investment in Microenterprise (PRIME) program. The original program announcements are: Program Announcement No. PRIME 04-1 and Program Announcement No. PRIME 04-2. Both of these announcements closed on May 11, 2004.
For FY2005, SBA will utilize the existing applications and scores from the FY2004 RFP. SBA will award grants to approximately 6 applicants from the FY2004 RFP that did not previously recieve funding. The number of grants awarded will be subject to the availability of funds. SBA may award grants to those applicants from PRIME 04-1 and PRIME 04-2 based on the scores of those applications, starting with the highest scoring applications. Only applicants that submitted an application in FY2004 will be considered.
SBA will send letters to all potential participants. Applicants will be required to confirm their continued desire to participate in the PRIME program. Applicants that confirm their intent to participate will be required to submit updated budget information and resumes by a specified date.
