The STEP program and the Department of Small and Local Business Development’s export promotion division – ExportDC – will move forward with two major activities: 1) Outbound trade missions to China, South Africa, and Canada; and 2) A new seminar series for export ready business concerns. ExportDC, in partnership with the DC Chamber of Commerce, will plan and manage an eight-part “Practical Exporter” business series - a cohesive, three-day building series of seminars introducing advanced topics and aimed at improving the skills and knowledge base of the export-ready business audience. This is in addition to DC’s continued strengthening of trade and tourism relations with China and South Africa, proof that the District has leveraged these relationships well.
