The Step Program and Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) will use funds to increase the value and number of small businesses exporting. This will be achieved by conducting trade missions and trade shows in countries representing both emerging and developed markets, and by offering funding to cover the costs of trade show booths and Gold Keys. A program to develop Export Marketing Plans will arm new-to-export companies with the information they need to begin exporting. These programs have a combined goal of assisting 367 eligible companies and generating $74.3 million in actual and expected export sales over two years. EFI will also offer new-to-export assistance to eligible small businesses across the state by partnering with four of Florida Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs). The SBDCs will develop customized Export Marketing Plans tailored to each company’s products, strengths, and capabilities. There is a combined goal of 61 companies and $9.9 million in actual and expected export sales over two years.
