The Hawaii STEP (HiSTEP) Program Plan is built on a multifaceted approach that begins with comprehensive export assistance, readiness, counseling and training that leads into a menu of targeted activities designed to generate new export sales for participating small businesses from key industry sectors. The main components of the HiSTEP Program includes export readiness, providing strategic export development statewide via the Export University program, consisting of approximately 20 hours of instruction to 50 companies via webinars and course materials. Additionally, the State of Hawaii plans to host 13 trade shows and trade missions in the apparel, gold, lifestyle, and other consumer product categories.
