The Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s (NDED) most ambitious program under STEP is the establishment of a trade center in Shanghai, China meant to advance trade and exports. Additionally, the International Access Grant (IMAG) Program can offset some small business export cost, encouraging additional action. Finally, the Nebraska Center in Tokyo (NCT), an invaluable asset for helping Nebraska business equip Japan with products and services for rebuilding its infrastructure, uses STEP funds to expand its presence, lengthen business hours, and provide more export services to Nebraska businesses.
