Hi, my name is Royalyn Reid, co-owner of Consumer Marketing Insights (CMI). My husband and I started the business, we knew nothing about business and we grew it organically, from the ground up. SBA has been an important part of our foundation. We have taken advantage of so many of the programs that have helped us, ranging from our first line of credit that we got through a bank that was affiliated with the SBA loan program. Second is taking advantage of the seven-day classes, ranging from how to navigate the federal maze, to government contracting. I guess, as a small business owner, what has been important to me is when I'm truly making a difference and providing great service and second, as a small business owner, is job creation.

As we have grown, we have gone from consultants to being able to hire employees. Also, as a small business owner, is giving back. We are involved with a lot of the minority and local councils and, last but not least, in our immediate community, we have adopted a school, Medrano Middle School, in which we have a three-year initiative that we are working on and teaming with them at the Middle School. As you can see, it has been fun, it has been a great ride, but also making a difference. We have gone from a local company to a national and we look forward to being an international company, too, in the near future.
