Robin: Hi. My name is Robin. Welcome to the true field of dreams. As a registered nurse with an obsession to fulfill my business potential, the SBA's 7(a) loan program allowed me the opportunity to make my dream a reality. My million-dollar loan has allowed me to create an assisted living facility, a garden-style home that has a heartbeat all its own. Country Gables has had a direct impact in my hometown of Grand Bay, Alabama. We employ 14 people and together we form an extended business family that makes a difference in our community. We enjoy every holiday to its fullest. We deliver that down-home, southern-style cooking. We specialize in celebrating the gift of life with our residents, their families and friends. We have a profound effect on the quality of life of our elderly residents, which is the most rewarding part of starting this business. We provide that special touch, the unexpected laughter when sometimes tears are the only answer to the pain. Growing old is when you have more memories than you have years ahead of you. Your life is getting shorter, while your memories are getting longer, until for some, you lose the ability to recall your past. These pictures are just a glimpse of the beauty and humanity found at Country Gables Assisted Living.
Female: If you can't be in your own home anymore and you have to be taken care of, I would say this is the best place you could ever be.
Robin: Never give up. Hold on to your dream. It was six years and seven bank rejections before I was able to procure a loan. Keep knocking on that door and when the SBA helps you turn the handle, bust it wide open and never look back because anything and everything could happen. Good luck!
