Rafael Guzman: Hello. My name is Rafael Guzman, president and owner of RM Technologies, the leading contractor in providing environmental remediation and demolition services in New England since 1994. We are located in Lawrence, Massachusetts, one of the poorest cities in the state with an unemployment rate almost double the national average.

Speaker 2: RM Technologies would like to thank the SBA for providing the spark our company needed for sustainable growth. Our business changed in 2009 when the SBA accepted RM Technologies into the SBA Bond Guarantee Program. This program not only made us more competitive, but also opened new market opportunities at the state and federal levels that we didn't have before. Despite the slow economy, we have grown from around two million dollars in annual revenues to 5.4 million in 2011 and are on target to make 10 million in 2012. Our total workforce has almost tripled in the same time frame. To secure continual growth, the SBA came to the rescue again. We just received a $300,000 dollar SBA-guaranteed equipment loan from Eastern Bank. This loan will make us even more competitive. The beauty of it all is that the SBA has not only helped RM Technologies grow, but it has empowered it to make a positive impact in our community. RM Technologies creates jobs, supports continuing education and supports social positives through local nonprofits. I am proud to announce that we recently started up a scholarship fund for underprivileged kids to attend the University of Massachusetts.

Rafael Guzman: This last four years has been exciting. I have no way to describe how fortunate I feel to be able to help others through my work and seeing that our company is finally realizing its vision to become the preferred minority contractor in the Northeast of the United States.
