When Neil Talwar founded TriEco in 2002, he started a small business with the potential to make a large impact for the environment. With the help of the SBA, TriEco formed a mentor protégé agreement with large business mentor, Tetri-Tech. The TriEco, Tetri-Tech joint venture earned more than $170 million in contracts for environmental consulting, munitions response, construction management, and energy efficiency services for projects across the U.S. Through the SBA mentor protégé program, TriEco has gained valuable knowledge from Tetri-Tech in how to conduct business with the federal government including training and procurement best practices, improvements to financial systems and health and safety to protect workers.

On the job, TriEco applies its integrity, knowledge, and imagination at federally managed clean up sites, eliminating radium contamination at a super fund site, clearing munitions to help get ready for reuse, monitoring storm water discharge to protect our oceans. That's the power of small business at work. What's more, TriEco now gives back to the community as a member of the Newton Marasco Foundation, inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards by connecting youth with nature today.

The SBA has empowered TriEco to bring its specialized knowledge to some of the most challenging environmental projects across the United States. TriEco is a small business making a large impact for the environment, creating opportunities today for a better tomorrow.
