Karen Woodbury: Woodbury Technologies is a company that was founded on technology as the name implies, so we do information technology and all kinds of computer software services. In addition to that, we do training and we also have moved into medical services. All our business is with the Department of Defense. We support the Air Force and the Army DISA. I love that we are providing medical services in hospitals and clinics for our military families. I started the company in 2003. At that time, I had an unformed idea of starting a small business to do work within the Department of Defense. SBA helped me so much to get the company started. There was a lot I didn't know and I went down to the Small Business Administration in Salt Lake City where they gave me a template for a business plan and helped me realize the importance of understanding where I was headed in the form of building a business plan. I came from a lower middle-class family. My parents taught me that if I work hard enough and if I made good life choices that I could achieve anything. I feel like I really have achieved the American dream and I hope that that is the future for my children and grandchildren as well, that that dream is still out there and can be achieved.
