Starting a business is an exciting proposition, but it’s also an incredibly challenging undertaking. Improve your odds of business success by understanding your needs as well as the resources that are available to help you start, manage and grow your business. Starting a business is not an easy task, nor will you have answers to all of your questions but this 10-step list will help organize and focus on essential tasks to help simplify the process.

Write a business plan. Obtain start-up capital. Set up a legal business structure. Obtain a Federal Employer Identification Number. Satisfy business-licensing requirements. Establish a Web presence. Develop business collateral. Open a bank account and/or merchant account. Identify where to get help. Understanding responsibilities.

During this workshop we will cover 10 basic steps of starting a small business and identify some helpful tools and resources to use along the way. The Small Business Administration offers no cost assistance to individuals that own or want to start a small business. Presented by Edward Haddock , SBA’s Northwest Arkansas Senior Area Manager.
