SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Albertville Open Memorial Day and Closes Friday, June 4
ATLANTA – The U.S. Small Business Administration announced today that the Disaster Loan Outreach Center located in Marshall County will be open Monday, May 31 Memorial Day. However, due to a steady decrease of activity at the Center, it will close Friday, June 4.
The SBA encourages victims of severe storms, tornadoes, high-winds and flooding that occurred from April 24 – 25 to return their completed applications, even if they have not settled with their insurance company. Waiting to file an SBA application could cause unnecessary delays in receiving disaster assistance.
Disaster victims are urged to register with FEMA by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362), TTY 800-462-7585 for people with speech or hearing disabilities. If you were issued an SBA loan application, complete and return to the SBA before the July 2 deadline even if you don’t want a loan. If the SBA determines you cannot afford a loan, you may be referred to FEMA for possible grant assistance.
“I encourage anyone who has not completed their disaster loan application to visit the Center before it closes to meet with a Customer Service Representative for one-on-one assistance,” said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA’s Field Operations Center East in Atlanta.
The location and hours of operations of the Center are:
Albertville Neighborhood Facilities Center
915 West McKinney Avenue
Albertville, AL 35950
Open: Mon-Fri; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Closes: Friday, June 4 at the close of business
Individuals who are unable to visit the Center may obtain program information and an application by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for people with speech or hearing disabilities) Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. EDT. Business loan applications can also be downloaded from the SBA website at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance. Completed applications should be returned to the Center or mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76155.
Those affected by this disaster may fill out a loan application online by visiting SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.
The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is July 2, 2010. The deadline to return economic injury applications is February 3, 2011.
