LITTLE ROCK—The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is accepting applications from eligible small business owners for a free executive-level training program that provides the tools and resources to help businesses grow, increase sales, and create jobs.
“Remarkably the Emerging Leaders Initiative has trained over 5,000 small business owners, created over 6,500 jobs, generated over $300 million in new financing, and helped secure over $3 billion in government contracts since it began in 2008,” said District Director Edward Haddock. “Emerging Leaders is a game-changer and I encourage small business owners who meet the requirements to apply now.”
Eligibility requirements for highly successful small business owners and executives are annual revenues of at least $250k, have been in business for at least 3 years, and have at least one employee other than the owner.
The success of the program was highlighted by the Emerging Leaders program manager at the Arkansas District Office. “I am amazed by the national accomplishments,” said Program Manager Richard Duda. “After completing the program, 30 percent of companies secured financing with an average value of $282k per company and nearly 70 percent of companies increased revenues by an average of 43 percent.”
The Arkansas program begins mid-April and is held every two weeks from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at The Venture Center in Little Rock. Specific details will be provided upon acceptance in the program.
Small business owners who meet the eligibility requirements may apply for the 2019 SBA Emerging Leaders Initiative at The application deadline for this year’s class is March 22.
“I urge small business owners to apply so they do not miss this extraordinary opportunity to grow their business,” added Duda. “Companies on average nationally created nearly six new jobs each and secured $655 million in new contracts with 45 percent from government sources.
