Haut, a Jamestown, N.D., native, earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master in Business Administration from Minnesota State University, Moorhead. His small business roots date back to the early 1900s when his great grandfather started a hardware store in central North Dakota. That business eventually lead to a funeral business that remains in the family today.

Haut’s family includes his wife Missy, son Adam, and three dogs. As an outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys spending time with family and friends hunting, fishing and being in the great outdoors.
