HAGÅTÑA, Guam – The U.S. Small Business Administration Guam Branch Office announced Bank of Guam as the winner for the “2019 SBA Lender of the Year” award.  Bank of Guam’s commitment of helping our small businesses obtain the needed capital is evident by the results which earned them the Lender of the Year Award” said Kenneth Lujan, SBA Guam Branch Manager.

SBA grants “Lender of the Year” and “Lending Officer of the Year” honors each year to the SBA lending institution and lending officer who approves the highest number of SBA-backed loans in a given fiscal year.  This year, the Bank of Guam approved a total of 8 SBA Guaranty loans lending over $.9 M to various small businesses.  In addition, the winner for this year’s “Banker of the Year” award is Vanessa B. Quinata, Assistant Vice President/Credit Officer for Bank of Guam, who was individually involved in the approval of all the SBA Guaranty loans.

“We are honored to be recognized for leading our community in lending to small businesses once again.  These awards are the result of hard work and persistence of our team, and we are very proud to have been selected for the 7th time for Lender of the Year and 6th time for Banker of the Year.  In particular, congratulations to Vanessa Quinata on being named 2019 SBA Banker of the Year and to the Bank’s lending team being awarded 2019 SBA Lender of the Year.  Small Businesses are the heart and soul of our community and drive our economy.  We are grateful for the opportunities and trust given to us by small business owners of the region.  BIBA BANK OF GUAM!!” commented Bank of Guam’s President and CEO Joaquin P.L.G. Cook.

“Guam’s small business community continues to go through so many challenges.  With a strong commitment from our lending partners in providing the needed capital to sustain and grow these small businesses, we feel confident that Guam’s economy would continue to prosper.  The performance from the Bank of Guam, as well as the rest of our lending partners, is an indication that the business economy is supported by our local lenders and that they are prepared for the credit demands of our small businesses,” SBA Guam Branch Manager Kenneth Lujan stated. “We will continue to work in concert with our lenders and resource partners in assisting with the future development of Guam’s economy and the rest of the Micronesia.”
