BOSTON – Christopher Thompson, president and owner of Position Clicks, has been named the 2012 SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year, according to an announcement by Robert Nelson, Massachusetts SBA District Director.

The 2012 SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year award is presented annually to recognize excellence and innovation within the SBA’s network of young entrepreneurs in Massachusetts. Mr. Thompson was judged on four basic criteria: evidence of success as measured by sales and profits, increased employment opportunities, development and utilization of innovative business methods, and demonstrated entrepreneurial potential for long-term success. Mr. Thompson was nominated by Al Inglesi, Vice President of Eastern Bank.

Mr. Thompson founded Position Clicks, a search engine marketing company that specializes in finding leads for the legal community, in 2008. Started as a home business with only one employee, the company has since grown to support eight subcontractors and has acquired a commercial condominium in downtown Hyannis, Massachusetts. Prior to starting his company, Mr. Thompson worked as a paralegal for a large firm in Boston while also exploring internet ventures that would support the legal community.

“This award is meant to honor the accomplishments of young entrepreneurs like Christopher Thompson who take risks, launch new ventures, and drive growth, even in these challenging times,” said Nelson. “Entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial thinking in new generations is critical to achieving growth here in Massachusetts and around the country and must be celebrated.”

Mr. Thompson will be honored at an SBA awards celebration along with the other Massachusetts Small Business Week 2012 winners at an event at Fenway Park on June 6, 2012.
