BOSTON – Crescent Credit Union has been awarded the Small Business Lender of the Quarter for the second quarter of fiscal year 2017.

“Crescent has earned this recognition for increasing productivity by three times their loan approvals from the previous year,” said Robert Nelson, SBA Massachusetts District Director. “Congratulations to the team at Crescent Credit Union for positively impacting the metro south business community.”

This award is being presented to Crescent Credit Union in recognition of their excellent SBA activity for the quarter. As of the end of March 2017, Crescent Credit Union made 9 loans in total this fiscal year, 5 in FY17 Q1 & 4 in FY 17 Q2 ranking them in the top 20 most active lenders in MA.  Crescent Credit Union’s SBA lending performance so far is three times that of their prior year.

“We are pleased to receive this award,” said Crescent Credit Union President and CEO Robert Gustafson. “Small businesses play a critical role in the success of our communities. We continue to build upon our SBA lending initiative by providing financing to small businesses in the markets we serve.”

The SBA offers a variety of loan guaranty programs including 7(a), SBA Express, Veteran Advantage Program, Small Loan Advantage (SLA) and CDC/504 Loans. SBA loans are guaranteed up to $5 million and are available for most business purposes, such as purchasing commercial real estate, equipment and inventory, or for providing short-term working capital.
