Honolulu, Hawaii – Exporting to the fast growth global markets is often touted among the best way to expand your customer base and your sales. Whether it is cultural and language barriers, rules and regulations, shipping and packaging, or knowing your customer and contracts, a small oversight can result in big and costly mistakes. If you’re considering going international, reserve your seat at “Before You Export: The Exporter’s Checklist for Success in the Overseas Market” on June 15, 2016.

The two hour workshop will cover the feasibility of selling your product or services to an international market, how to research the demand, regulations and potential clients and distribution, preparing export strategy and the tapping into resources such as the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP), SBA financing and consulting assistance, Gold Key Services, export training and more. FTZ 9 Director David Sikkink, DBEDT specialist Jamie Lum and SBA business specialist Mary Dale will share their experience and knowledge to get you the tools your small business needs to be ready for your export opportunity.

The free workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning, June 15th at the Mink Center for Business and Leadership (MCBL) located at the YWCA O’ahu at 1040 Richards Street in downtown Honolulu. For more information on the program agenda, contact SBA at 808 541-2990. Registration is required due to limited seating and available through MCBL by calling 808-695-2635.
