HARRISBURG –  The U.S. Small Business Administration, Women’s Business Center at Community First Fund, SCORE Chapters in Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, and Small Business Development Centers at Kutztown University and Shippensburg University are teaming up to de-mystify the process of borrowing money and help local entrepreneurs learn how obtain financing on Wednesday, November 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Dixon University Center, Administration Building, 2986 N 2nd Street, Harrisburg, Penn.

The “Central PA Lender Match” is a “one-stop, speed dating” format designed to spark lending relationships by providing entrepreneurs a series of 10-15-minute “pitch periods” with a variety of lenders in one-on-one meetings. Participating lending institutions include banks, credit unions, economic development corporations, and community lenders.  The lenders can schedule more detailed interviews with entrepreneurs whose proposal may be a match with their lending portfolio.

“This is a great opportunity for Central Pennsylvania entrepreneurs to meet with a variety of potential lenders and to discover ways to gain access to the technical assistance with SBA and our resource partners that they might need to become ready for a business loan at a one-stop event,” said Acting SBA Philadelphia District Director Mark Quinn.

“At SBA, our mission is to help small businesses start, grow and succeed. I encourage Central Pennsylvanian entrepreneurs at every stage of business development, from start-up to expanding business, to attend this free event,” said SBA’s Harrisburg Branch Manager Michael Kane, who is responsible for marketing, education and outreach of SBA programs and services across the greater capital region.

Representatives from the SBA and SBA’s Resource Partner network – SCORE, Women’s Business Centers, and Small Business Development Centers – will also be available to help advise potential borrowers.
