MIAMI - U.S. Small Business South Florida District Office recently announced the winners of the SBA’s 2019 District and State of Florida Small Business Week Awards.
 
“It is with great pleasure that I announce the winners for this year’s South Florida National Small Business Week awards,” said Victoria Guerrero, district director for the South Florida District Office. “In addition to recognizing the accomplishments of these award-winning entrepreneurs at various district-wide ceremonies, our District will host Administrator Linda McMahon during her 2019 NSBW tour around the country. Please join our office in celebrating the hard work, determination and success of each of our winners.”
 
Small Business Person of the Year (South Florida District)

Community Partner of the Year (State of Florida and South Florida District)
Accion East, located in Miami, Florida
 
Small Business Advocate of the Year (State of Florida and South Florida District)
Samuel Blatt, of the City of North Miami, Florida
 
Young Entrepreneur Small Business Person of the Year (State of Florida and South Florida District)
 Mari Angeles Rubio, owner of Casa Gioiai, located in Miami, Florida
 
Veteran-Owned Small Business Person of the Year (South Florida District)
Hayes Fountain, chief executive officer, and Donald Williams, chief operating officer of Widescope Consulting and Contracting Services, located in Largo, Florida
 
Woman-Owned Small Business Person of the Year (State of Florida and South Florida District)
Wendy Romeu, founder and owner of Alluvionic, located in Melbourne, Florida
 
Winners will be presented with their NSBW awards during various ceremonies throughout the District.
 
Each year since 1963, the president has issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of National Small Business Week.  National Small Business Week will be observed May 5-11 with events around the country. SBA Administrator Linda McMahon will be making stops in Washington, D.C., Florida, Texas, and Utah.
