Introducing the 2019 Small Business Week Award Recipients to be Honored by SBA Orange County / Inland Empire District Office

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The U.S. Small Business Administration, Orange County / Inland Empire District Office is pleased to announce the following individuals, businesses and organizations will be honored as recipients in the Agency’s annual Small Business Week awards program:

• California Small Business Person of the Year – Jeff Perry, President, All Industrial Tool Supply; Huntington Beach

• District Small Business Person of the Year Runner-up (Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties) – Mark Anthony Vaca, Sr., President, OCS Construction Services, Inc.; Riverside

• Woman Owned Small Business of the Year – Casandra Williams, CEO/CFO Environmental Consultant, A-Tech Consulting, Inc.; Orange

• Young Entrepreneur of the Year– Frederick Daniel Leaf, President/ CEO, Leaf Communications Consulting LLC; San Clemente

• SBIR/ STTR Award – Eric Schmidt, President and Kevin Mahaffy, CEO, Exquadrum, Inc.; Adelanto

• Community Excellence City Award-- Jessica Gonzales, City of Anaheim Economic Development Team; Anaheim

• Community Excellence Chamber Award– Bryan Starr, President/CEO, Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce; Irvine

• Micro Business of the Year – Cindy Greaver, Owner,  MRS.G’s; Temecula

• Family-Owned Business of the Year –Janine Gass, CEO and Darcy Thomas-Maskrey,VP of Operations; Techniglove International, Inc.; Riverside

• SCORE Mentor of the Year-- Debbie Molino, SCORE-Orange County Chapter

"The range of the 2019 class of Small Business Week honorees is remarkable and represents the diversity we enjoy in Southern California in terms of where our economic power comes from," says Christopher Lorenzana, the SBA Orange County / Inland Empire district’s deputy director. "We’re celebrating manufacturers, young entrepreneurs, technology firms, businesses that help build our infrastructure, not to mention critical collaborators such as cities and chambers of commerce, because they all play a role in the success of the region."

As part of National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight contributions made by small business owners and champions to create 21st century jobs, drive innovation, and increase America’s global competitiveness. 

The awardees will be recognized and receive their awards at the local Small Business Week Awards program, which will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m. at the Disneyland Hotel Grand Ballroom. The Orange County / Inland Empire District Office, under the leadership and vision of J. Adalberto Quijada, District Director, is responsible for the delivery of SBA programs and services in the Southern California counties of Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino. Located in Santa Ana near John Wayne Airport, the office and its staff facilitate understanding and access to SBA loan programs; coordinate and conduct hundreds of training sessions and special events annually such as matchmaking forums and loan workshops; and manage a portfolio of nearly 100 businesses enrolled in the agency’s 8(a) business development program.
