Introduction to small business training for vets and their spouses

SAN ANTONIO – The U.S. Small Business Administration and the University of Houston-Victoria Small Business Development Center will host a free one day entrepreneurial workshop for veterans of all eras, service members (including National Guard and Reserve) and the spouses.

This training will be held on November 9, 2017 from 8 am to 4:30 pm at the UHV SBDC 1908 N. Laurent St. Suite 400 Victoria TX 77904.

“Veterans possess the qualities such as leadership, ingenuity and efficiency that are needed to succeed as small business owners and entrepreneurs,” said Anthony Ruiz, SBA San Antonio District Director.

The classroom based course called Boots to Business Reboot provides participants an overview of business ownership, outlining the components of a business plan, a practical exercise in opportunity recognition, and an introduction to available public and private sector resources.

The training also includes a feasibility analysis practical exercise and an instructor-led, eight-week online course that provides participants the knowledge needed to create an actionable business plan.
