BOSTON –The Small Business Administration (SBA) has named Lancaster Packaging the 2020 8(a) Graduate of the Year for Massachusetts and New England.

Lancaster Packaging earned the recognition for successfully operating for nearly three decades and completing the SBA 8(a) program. Lancaster Packaging is a woman-minority owned firm that has grown from one product line of flexible packaging materials, into a national wholesale distribution and purchasing company providing vendor and supply chain management services.

The 8(a) business development program provides a level playing field for small business in government contracting,said SBA Massachusetts District Director Robert Nelson.  “We’re honored to recognize Marianne Lancaster for her achievements and growth since graduating from the program.  She serves as a role model and success story for future participants in the program.

In addition to being certified SBA 8(a) – Lancaster is also DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) certified with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) certified with the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council.

Lancaster will be honored virtually at the annual SBA Massachusetts Small Business Week Awards event on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020.  Rescheduled from May, National Small Business Week will be a 3-day virtual conference from Tuesday, September 22nd to Thursday, September 24th.
